Travel + Ships Log

It is still snowing outside and feels and looks like WINTER! The guy in the Marina told me this is unreal for them and he thought that we should be used to this us we are from Maine! We spent a nice evening with Joy and Mike who are also on there way to the Bahamas. They invited us over into there 45’ Cap Dory, a nice boat with a warm interior. But as all older boats seem to have the same problem they are waiting for spare parts to get some problems solved. We are the only two sailing vessels here in Cape May which are on route to the south. Mike told me that he did have similar experience with his SSB- Email setup as I have. This was kind of reassuring that I might be not the only person having difficulty to understand Radios and COM ports and RF feedbacks. We will leave here tomorrow morning and aim for Norfolk – 130 miles = about 25 Hours.

Es schneit draussen und sieht wie WINTER aus. Der Mann in der Marina sagte, es ist nicht normal fuer die Leute hier – wier sollten doch eher daran gewoehnt sein da wir ja von Maine sind.  Wir hatten einen netten Abend mit Joy and Mike die auch auf dem Weg in die Bahamas sind. Die beiden haben uns auf ihre 45’ Cape Dory eingeladen, Ein gemuetliches  Boot mit warmen holzreichem Innenausbau. Aber wie alle aelteren Boote scheinbar das gleiche Problem haben – die beiden warten auch auf Ersatzteile.  Unseren beiden Boote sind die einzigen hier in Cape May. Mike erzaehlte mir, das er die gleichen negativen Erfahrungen wie ich mit seinem SSB und email hat. Einigermaseen beruhigend fuer mich das ich nicht der einzige bin der da Probleme hat! Wier werden morgen weiter fahren mit Ziel Norfolk – 130 miles = ungefaehr 25 Stunden.
